It's been a long time...

Sorry for not writing for such a long time but we did not have either time or good access to Internet. At the moment we are in Melbourne ready to live for Sydney. But let's come back to Vietnam.
When we came back from Sa Pa Salvatore was almost dying with cold and for two days stayed in bed. While he was suffering I was enjoying 'hunting' for snakes with some Polish people. I tried famous bloody drink - snake's blood with vodka and bile with vodka. After the aperitif we had some different tapas from the snake. My favourite was chips from snake's skin - delicious :)
Once Salvatore got little bit better we went for another trip, this time to magnificent Ha Long Bay. Money makes a difference- we went for the cheapest option without knowing we're getting ourselves into army training camp. Basically, there were rules to be obeyed to and no questions to be asked. The timetable was strict and remember - "never ask why". We were even told where to seat by the table and small portion of food was to be shared by seven people. After the severe training finally we were free to make a choice about our half an hour leisure time. We could choose to do some kayaking at 6.30 in the morning. Having refused this interesting but freezing trip we went into beaurocratic Vietnamese system and had to sign a paper that we did not want to do the lovely kayaking.
All this suffering was rewarded by the scenic views of the Ha Long Bay - announced as one of the new seven wonders of the world. It was really worth it!
Back in Ha Noi we stayed in a hostel in the old quarter of the capital. There we were in the centre of the buzzing life of Vietnamese people, enjoying street food and amazing green tea.
Sadly the time in this beautiful country has finished and we were ready for exploring another one.
